Multilingual Kindergarten in Cologne – Information for Parents

Dear parents, we are with you

Let's talk for a moment about how we combine cognitive and social education with diversity and quality – and why parents choose to trust us.

You’re looking for a diverse and inclusive kindergarten that’s personally suited to your child and your family – and that’s part of your neighborhood and daily life? At Kindergan, we combine warmth and professionalism with a diverse environment.

We invite you to get to know our kindergartens, read about our partnership with parents and the quality that is regularly reviewed – all for the best for your child.

Are you looking for a diverse kindergarten you can trust with peace of mind? At Kindergan, quality isn't just a promise – it's proven, transparent, and felt anew every day.

Quality is at the center of our educational centers. We regularly examine and improve our work through parent, staff, and child surveys as well as internal self-assessments and professional reviews by external bodies. This way, quality with us isn’t just a promise – it’s visible, measurable, and felt every day.

All our staff members regularly participate in professional development – both within the organization and in external frameworks. Close collaboration with the Schwartz Program for Early Childhood Education at the Hebrew University ensures a continuous flow of scientific knowledge, pedagogical innovation, and professional reflection. The network’s quality management system is based on ISO 9001 standards.

Everything for Your Child

For us, quality means: every child is truly seen, receives personalized attention, and is nurtured according to their pace and needs. Our professional staff accompanies each child individually, and regularly pauses to think, learn, and refine the educational work.

Quality Control

We conduct an annual evaluation of our pedagogical processes, carry out parent and staff surveys, and publish the results with complete transparency. Additionally, we listen to the children and consult with them regularly – according to their age – to understand what they enjoy and how they feel in the kindergarten. This is how we create real quality: by integrating diverse perspectives.

Staff Development

At Kindergan, learning is a core value. Our educational staff undergoes professional, personal, and linguistic training on an ongoing basis, because we believe that quality begins with people. The result? A diverse, professional, and inspiring environment for your children.

Context-Aware Kindergarten: Learning from Life Itself

Every child who comes to kindergarten brings an entire world with them: family, language, culture, experiences, habits, stories, and emotions. In our educational centers, we work according to a context-aware approach — meaning we don’t educate children according to a centralized standard curriculum — because there’s no one-size-fits-all shoe. Instead, we accompany children from the personal and authentic context of their lives. Why? Because children learn best when learning connects to the familiar world around them. Therefore, our activities are built around real and meaningful situations from children’s lives. This way, learning becomes alive and relevant.

It starts raining outside. In a context-aware approach, this doesn’t “disrupt the plan” — it becomes the plan: we go out to feel the drops, talk about weather, conduct experiments with water, draw clouds, tell stories about winter from home. In other words: learning grows from the children’s reality.

Another example: a child arrived with a cast on their hand. The children immediately ask: What happened? How does the body heal? Playing “doctor and patient.” What is pain? Books about the human body. A conversation about empathy: “How can we help a friend?”

At the heart of our work are the relationships between the children and staff. We observe, listen, and respond with sensitivity and professionalism — because real development happens when a child feels safe. Our staff accompanies the children with compassion, stability, and deep professional knowledge.

Our goal: children who feel understood, develop a strong identity, grow with confidence — and become curious, independent, and capable, within a kindergarten that respects the full context of their lives.

The educational centers are laboratory kindergartens and operate under the academic guidance of the Schwartz Program for Early Childhood at the Hebrew University.

Eating with All the Senses

We serve balanced, delicious, and kosher meals to the children, according to recommendations from leading dietitians.

Fresh ingredients and an abundance of vegetables make healthy nutrition a natural and joyful part of everyday life. Lunch is provided by local catering.

In our educational centers, shared meals are a daily moment of warmth, belonging, and community. Around the table, children learn to converse, listen, share, and respect one another – in a pleasant and safe atmosphere. This way, food becomes a connecting experience that strengthens relationships, self-confidence, and healthy habits.

Between Black and White Is a Whole World of Colors

With us, children experience difference as something natural and valuable. They learn that there are many ways to understand the world, and develop empathy, tolerance, and social resilience. This way, they grow into confident and open individuals — children who not only accept diversity but understand that it’s a source of richness and inspiration.

However, tolerance for us doesn’t mean “anything goes”. We live values of respect, equality, and openness — and expect this approach to be shared by everyone. Diversity stops where it endangers our cohesion and connection. Only when we accept each other in our differences does what makes our kindergartens special emerge: genuine, vibrant, and meaningful shared life — that strengthens children and prepares them for the world.

Every Child Is Welcome

Whether with special needs or not — every child belongs with us. Our frameworks are adapted and accessible as much as possible, and our professional staff creates a personal and tailored developmental space for each child.

We work with an inclusive approach — meaning: we don’t focus on what’s missing, but on each child’s potential. We remove barriers, strengthen each child’s unique strengths, and encourage personal development according to their needs.

A good start, trust in daily life, and a strong support network – for us, this is the heart of true educational partnership. At Kindergan, we accompany every family from day one, with a calm and gentle settling-in period, open and respectful communication, and a wealth of activities and experiences that enrich daily life. This creates a warm and safe space where children, parents, and staff grow, strengthen, and develop together.

Settling In – A Safe Start at the Child's Pace

Starting kindergarten is a significant and exciting moment – for children and parents alike. Therefore, the settling-in period with us is personally tailored to each child, with sensitivity, patience, and at the pace that’s right for them. Parents are active partners in the process from day one, until the child feels safe, relaxed, and begins to discover curiosity and joy in the new world opening before them.

Educational Partnership – Open Dialogue Between Parents and Staff

With us, parents and educational staff are true partners – at eye level and in an atmosphere of trust and respect. Through personal conversations, parent evenings, and joint events, we maintain close and continuous contact throughout the year. Because for us, it’s important not only that the children feel safe and happy – but that the entire family feels they’re part of our home.

Parent Community – A Warm and Welcoming Home for All Families

Our educational centers are places of meeting and connection. Here, parents find support, dialogue, and new relationships. Whether it’s a parent café or a workshop – we nurture a community so our families can grow together and strengthen one another.

We thank you for the trust you place in us every day. Your feedback as parents is very important to us. We conduct parent surveys regularly and listen carefully. From you, we learn where we’re already doing well and where there’s still room for improvement.

Since our pilot in Israel will only open in summer 2026, we haven’t yet collected feedback from local parents. However, we’d be happy to share with you impressions from Israeli parents whose children attended our kindergartens in Cologne, Germany.

Find a Warm and Quality Kindergarten in Your Neighborhood

Each of our centers has a unique and different character, as it integrates into the context of the neighborhood and community where it’s located. But in every place, the same values await you: warmth, pedagogical excellence, and professional transparency.

Jerusalem – Givat Ram

Our pilot will open in Jerusalem for the 2026 school year. On the Givat Ram campus, we will offer 60 places for children aged 15 months to 6 years. Thanks to the international character of the environment, the kindergarten will operate in a multilingual format – Hebrew and English. University students and staff are our neighbors, and their children will be given priority in admission. At the same time, the kindergarten is also open to all families in Jerusalem who are interested in a warm, quality, and multilingual framework.
